Each week Mrs Woods provides tuck shop to our pupils. As a result, she has kindly donated two beautiful standing tables to our primary school. One will be donated to KS1 and the other to KS2. Some of our students prefer to stand and learn for short periods of time and this resource will be invaluable to support learning. Thank you Mrs Woods ❤️

Taughmonagh primary school and nursery unit takes the safety and wellbeing of our young people very seriously and over my four years of leadership many changes have been put in place to reflect this.

We have very child focused staff who care for our young people like their own

On incidents like this - we take directive and guidance from the EA. At times, the media presents information to parents quicker than an EA directive lands at our school.

Full checks were completed of the school and we complied through all reporting processes. It was identified very quickly from powers above us that the email was a 'hoax'.

This does not take away from the seriousness of events such as yesterday but more so to reassure parents and families that we would never place your children at risk without your knowledge. As a school we follow procedures and correspondence was sent to parents when directed from EA which was after the media had reported to families.

We acknowledge the concern, we hear the concern but please continue to work with us on ensuring our building is safe. The attached leaflet provides some information of our daily processes. Do not be offended if we don't permit you down the corridor to classrooms, do not be offended if we challenge you on site if we haven't seen you before - all these actions are part of daily safeguarding process that were in place long before yesterday.

As a parent myself - I understand, I hear and feel the frustration and anxiety that education is being disrupted, that our young generation being exposed to situations that they shouldn't be - but you have the schools full support in keeping your children safe.

I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow and wish you a peaceful and less stressful day than yesterday.

We feel so grateful today. This will support our teaching and learning in ways we cannot explain!

We had some stories told to us and we all had a great afternoon🎃🍂.

Yesterday, the builders removed some trees and today the old play frame was removed.

This is going to be the most amazing refurb for our school and we can't wait to follow the progress over the next few weeks.

We will share some pictures as we go.

As always our thanks goes to David Burgess, Bobby McDowell (Education Authority) and Lynn McKinley and Julia Henderson (Controlled Schools Unit) for all their support in make this happen.

If you’re looking one, put your request in now! 😉💻

Who’s next? 👀

No?!

Well here you go! Well done to Gary for being star of the week last week for homeworks and for his son Parker for being an amazing tutor.

Don't they both look dapper in their glasses 🤓

Teaching staff undertook training by Mrs Graham and Mrs Luckman on the new Literacy Framework. The amount of effort and time placed into this training is to be commended. Meticulous and child focused ❤️

Non teaching staff undertook resilience training and we were delighted to have our new friend and colleague, Geraldine from GMB with us at this training. The reports of how amazing John was in his delivery and empathy was really positive to hear.

To conclude, staff undertook a refresh session on reading.I think the staff deserve a few days rest before they commence their report writing next week.

Thank you to all the staff for their engagement and for all our facilitators for leaving us with inspiration moving forward

We are so proud to report that Taughmonagh's Digital Leaders have received their GOLD LEVEL AWARD for all their training and support of ICT in school.

A huge congratulations to Miss Holmes and the Digital Leaders.
